After the Launch

Birmingham’s Eastside became a melting pot of creativity on Thursday 9th June with the much anticipated launch of the city’s newest multi-purpose music studios, education and training venue - Heath Mill Studios.

Home to Access to Music, the UK’s leading popular music college, and Armstrong Learning, which provides employability advice and guidance, the state of the art facility is located in Digbeth, around the corner from the Custard Factory.

The launch was a celebration of education, young talent and culture and provided local industry and council representatives, creative entrepreneurs and other key figures from the city with an insight into what the centre offers and exactly how its many facets can benefit local communities, as well as individual students and musicians.

Students provided guests with tours of the brand-new premises, including two state-of-the-art recording studios, an eighty-capacity performance space,  Apple Mac labs and ten rehearsal rooms.

When asked about Heath Mill Studios’ role within Digbeth’s creative community, Centre Director Graeme Howell said:

“The range of different events happening this evening highlights one of the main reasons we chose Digbeth as the location for our new facility. Over the next few months we want to begin to develop our offer as part of this rich tapestry of culture and become a key facility not only for our own ambitions but in support of other creative ideas.”
